Irish students to keep bikes and humanitarian aide in Homel region

A group of Irish students are doing a bike ride in the areas of the Homel region that was affected the most by the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear accident. Over 40 students from different universities in Dublin on June 14 took off on their bikes from the town of Svetlagorsk to the Rechica district in the Homel region. They bought the bikes in Minsk right upon arrival in the Belarusian capital.

The Isrish first visited the contaminated areas in the Mahiliou region. They plan to finish their ride in the town of Vetka. The students will pass their bikes and other humanitarian aid to the local orphanages and sports schools, according to BelaPAN.
