Issue of sanctions against Belarusian officials to be discussed in EU
A meeting of Foreign Ministers of EU member states will take place in Luxemburg today. The situation in Belarus after the recent parliamentary elections and the possibility of lifting the sanctions imposed on Belarusian officials will be discussed there.
Negotiations of the Belarusian Foreign Minister Syarhei Martynau with the EU “three” -European Commissioner for External Relations and European Neighbourhood Policy Benita Ferrero-Waldner, the French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner and the EU Foreign Policy Chief Xavier Solana – will be organized during the meeting in Luxemburg. The main issues on the agenda will be fulfillment of OSCE recommendations by the Belarusian authorities and ways of continuation of the dialogue between Brussels and Minsk.
