ITUC report: Women paid 30% less than men

Women, regardless of the family situation, make 74 percent of what men are paid. Women with children make only 68 percent compared to men. Besides, the unequal distribution of responsibilities in the family can also make women's career more difficult. These are the main conclusions in the report released by the International Trade Union Confederation ahead of the 100th anniversary of the International Women's Day.
This report is "a call for action at all levels", said Diana Holland, the head of ITUC' Women Committee.

The report is based on the data collected in 40 countries. ITUC represents 176 million workers in 155 countries.
