Ivan Shega says he had edge over pro-government candidate

Popular Front candidate Ivan Shega, a doctor from Slonim, is taking the second position with 30 percent after Yaraslau Ramanchuk (33 percent of votes) among the opposition candidates. The official reports said his contender Mechislau Kastsyuk, the chairman of the local district administration, received over 60 percent. But Shega does not trust the official data

"This is not the true result. It was clear at the polling stations where we managed to organize a more or less proper observance... These are not the figures they should have been. At least, it was fifty-fifty. I even had an edge, especially at the rural polling stations".
