Jitneys – most dangerous means of public transport in Minsk

Jitneys remain the most dangerous means of public transport in Minsk. The deputy head of the city department of the Emergency Control Ministry Ruslan Lihamanau claimed it at a meeting in Minsk City Executive Committee.
According to him, there were 30 road accidents involving public transport in the capital last year. It is 14% less than in 2007. However, a third of them involved jitneys.

There have been 12 accidents involving public transport registered in Minsk this year. It is 66% more that in the same period of the previous year, reports the new agency “Minsk-news”.
