Journalists holding worldwide solidarity campaign
Journalists around the world on November 5 are holding a solidarity campaign titled "Stand Up For Journalism!". The action is also supported by journalists from non-state Belarusian media.
The campaign was initiated last year by the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) and became a success in Europe. The Belarusian Association of Journalists (BAJ) has joined the action with a statement, noting a grave situation with freedom of speech in Belarus, where independent newspapers are almost non-existent and where journalists went missing or were killed.
