KGB interrogates minors in parents’ absence

Vika Ladzis, an activist of “Young Front” is 15 years old, however, KGB investigators have managed to interrogate her, reports Radio Liberty. "I was summoned to KGB and replied that I had not come of age, that I was as only 15. They responded that I had to come to KGB because there was a law according to which I could be interrogated in the presence of my parents or other people. I was ill at that moment and a KGB member visited me at home and asked about Nasta Palazhanka, wondered which positions in “Young Front” were occupied by whom, asked about the number of activists and so on”, - said the activist.

Summoning minors for an interrogation without their parents’ consent and knowledge is a major violation of the existing legislation, claims a human rights activist and lawyer Aleh Vouchak. “It seems that  the authorities have told KGB,  the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the others – do whatever you like –and have exceeded all the legal limits”, - added the human rights defender.
