KGB looking for “Free Theatre” directors
The security agencies are busy looking for the heads of “Free Theatre” Natallya Kalyada’s (director of the theatre) parents have informed that KGB members visited the flat where Natallya Kalyada lives with her husband Mikalai Halezin, the art director, on January 4, reports Charter’97.
They inspected the flat and asked a number of questions. In particular, they were interested how Kalyada and Halezin had managed to leave the state and where they and their daughter were.
Let us remind you that the actors of Minsk “Free Theatre” are touring across the USA. They are using the tour to tell Americans about the Belarusian political situation.
The art director of “Free Theatre” Mikalai Halezin has told Euroradio that the tour was planned a year ago and that it is the troupe’s traditional American tour. The political events in Belarus have not cancelled the trip.
"We are only talking about Belarus and only about politics”, - noted the art director of the theatre.
