KGB refuses to return offce equipment to "Nasha Niva"
Editors of "Nasha Niva" received a response to their enquiry with regard to return of office equipment, from KGB.
The editor's office underlined in their enquiry that absense of office equipment, confiscated during searches, did not let the employees fulfill their professional activities. "Nasha Niva" addressed with a suggestion to return at least that part of computers, which the investigation did not need anymore, the newspaper informs.
The KGB's response, signed by the Colonel Uladzimir Kalach, states that "the property will be returned after the necessary procedural actions are completed". Meanwhile, some of confiscated information carriers were empty.
The editors are convinced that there delays mean that the aim of office equipment confiscation was not just "investigation actions", but also creating obstacles for the independent media.
