Kozulin says Europe will not recognize Belarus polls

Europe will not recognize the parliamentary elections in Belarus but will note positive changes, former political prisoner Alexander Kozulin suggested. In his view, this position will allow the West "to make certain steps towards the political regime in Belarus".
Kozulin stressed that the West is very interested in opening a new stage in the relations with Belarus. "The improvement of the relations with the European Union and the United States is in the national interests of Belarus and its people. One needs to move in the direction of improving the relations, but the moral issues of democratic rights and freedoms should not be put in the last place", the politician said.

Alexander Kozulin is convinced that pro-democracy forces should take part in a dialogue between the West and the Belarusian authorities.
