Law students offer free counseling services in Vitsebsk

The legal conseling service or 'Legal Clinic' has been operated by law students at the Vitsebsk State University for three months, reports ERB correspondent Yadviha Stasheuskaya. Anyone who can't afford a professional lawyer can come to the legal clinic. To students, this is a good on-the-job training oppotunity to brush up their theoretical knowledge and practice skills. "Counselors" often need up to one week of time in order to study the issue of a client.

The students' legal clinic is popular in town, with five-six people coming daily. The list of clients includes mostly pensioners, disabled and poor people who can't afford the services of certified lawyers.
