Legitimacy of creation of district election commissions has not been checked by CEC

The Central Election Commission did not agree to include the issue of checking the legitimacy of creation of district election commissions on the agenda yesterday. It was suggested by representatives of opposition political parties included in the Central Election Commission and having the right of a casting vote, informs BelaPAN. Let us remind you that democratic forces claimed that some district commissions had been created due to gross violations. It would help free elections in Belarus if the issue was considered by the Central Election Commission.

However, the head of the Central Election Commission Lidziya Yarmoshyna claimed that the commission had never discussed general questions of the kind. According to her, it is impossible to do it because it would mean check-ups of 6523 divisional and 110 district election committees.
