Liberal democrats appove Haidukevich's program for presidential elections

The Liberal Democratic Party of Belarus today approved Siarhei Haidukevich's presidential candidate program. The nominee said that the program was revised regarding the relations with Russia and the West but declined to elaborate on more details. Siarhei Haidukevich: “The party's central committee gathered a meeting of its supreme council and approved the election platform for Siarhei Haidukevich, a Liberal Democratic nominee for the presidential race.

According to the resolution, election headquarters should have been set up in all the regional centers by September 1, 2009. The work will kick off tomorrow. The program was significantly revised especiall regarding our relations with Russia and Europe... There are very interesting things, but it remains a secret yet”.

The former lawmaker and the clang-standing leader of the Liberal Democratic Party admitted to the European Radion for Belarus that he did not want to lag behind the president in his activities.

Siarhei Haidukevich: "There is just a 8-day difference between Lukashenka's birthday and mine. Both of us were born in 1954. I know that the president made a decision to work for a long period; I will also work for a long period of time. So, there is a lot of work to be done”.

In February 2008, the delegates of the congress of the Liberal Democratic Party of Belarus nominated their leader Siarhei Haidukevich as a potential candidate during the presidential elections in 2011.
