Lithuania arrests pro-Putin activist who came from Belarus

Konstantin Goloskov, an activist with the pro-Putin youth pressure group Nashi, was detained in Lithuania for illegally crossing the national border, reports the Russian news portal Lenta.ru.
The Russian national crossed into Lithuania unnoticed from neighboring Belarus in the New Year's night.

During interrogation, Goloskov said he wanted to reach Estonia where he planned to take part in "a memorial vigil" on the site where a WWII monument to the Soviet soldiers was dismantled last year. The Estonian authorities had denied a visa to the Russian.

The pro-Putin activist is facing up to two months in prison, under the Lithuanian laws.
