Lithuania expects good news from Belarus with regard to the detained policeman

The President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė expects "good news" with regard to the detained policeman Laimanas Bankauskas from Belarus on Wednesday. According to the portal DELFI, the President of Lithuania stated the relationship at the state level were getting better very fast so he hoped to receive news soon at the background of this upgrade. Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Audronius Ažubalis also commented the incident. According to him, solving of this delicate issue will become a sign that Belarus and Lithuania can agree on such sensitive problems.

Let us remind you, that the company commander of Vilnius Chief Commissariat Laimanas Bankauskas had been detained on August 16 near the Belarusian-Lithuanian border. The officer was accused of transporting amphetamine. Bankauskas denies accusations.
