Lithuania forbids import of German meat; Armenia forbids import of Russian chicken

Lithuania has temporarily forbidden the import of live birds and poultry from German Brandenburg where a case of bird flu H5N1 was registered at a private farm. Customs control at the Lithuanian border has also become stricter.

At the same time Armenia has imposed a ban on the import of poultry from Russia. The reason is the same – a case of bird flu was registered at a poultry farm in Rostov District, reports Gazeta.ru.
