Lithuanian Foreign Minister meets representatives of Belarusian democratic forces
The Foreign Minister of Lithuania Audronius Ažubalis met representatives of the Belarusian democratic forces on September 8, reports BelaPAN. The co-leader of the steering committee for creation of “Belarusian Christian Democracy” party (BCD) Pavel Sevyarynets has informed that the Minister congratulated them on the Day of Orsha Battle victory first. Audronius Ažubalis was interested in the situation before the political campaign of 2010 and 2011, prospects of the democratic movement, sanctions imposed on higher Belarusian officials and issues of the registration of the BCD, said Sevyarynets.
Sevyarynets also noted at the meeting that the main term for lifting European sanctions from high-ranking Belarusian officials was releasing political prisoners and conducting democratic changes.
