Lithuanian investors are afraid to come to Belarus

Belarus seems attractive to Lithuanian investors but they are afraid to come here. The Lithuanian Ambassador Edminas Bagdonas said that administrative regulation was the reason for it in an interview with “Komsomolskaya Pravda v Belarusi”.
According to the Ambassador, businessmen who are used to market economy find it difficult to orient in Belarusian administrative regulation.

He also noted that the fact of confiscation of Lithuanian minibuses a month ago could not promote normal cooperation.

The Ambassador commented on the arrest of Lithuanian minibuses in Belarus. The diplomat noted that the infringements Lithuanian citizens are accused of in Belarus would only lead to administrative responsibility in Lithuania. It means they would be fined. However, people get imprisoned for it in Belarus.
