Lithuanian policy concerning Belarus to depend on Belarus
Members of the foreign affairs committee of the Lithuanian Seym met President Dalia Grybauskaitė, disused actual issues of the Lithuanian policy and mentioned Belarus, reports Radio “Liberty”.
Lithuania’s policy concerning Belarus depends on the Belarusian government’s efforts to get closer to European democratic standards, claimed that head of the parliamentary committee of foreign affairs Emanuelis Zingeris. Lithuania is urging Belarus to open the country for democratic values and standards and economic cooperation of the European Union with Belarus and joint projects in the field of environmental protection and infrastructure may affect the democratization of Belarus, said Zingeris.
Lithuania will preside in the OSCE next year and in the European Union – in 2013.
