Lithuania's deputy healthcare minister arrested fir graft

Lithuania's deputy healthcare minister Arturas Skikas was arrested by operatives from the Special Investigations Service for receiving bribe, reports Newsru. Skikas accepted a bribe of Lt20,000 (6,000 euros) and is now facing corruption charges. The official was detained on Thursday at the end of the working day. According to witnesses, having seen the visitors fro the Special Investigations Service, Skikas began sweating. Later, he sat at his desk and refused to talk to the agents without a lawyer.

Skikas' office was searched; his computer and documents were seized. He was later taken to the police custody and interrogated. Lithuania's Office of the Prosecutor General allowed to detain the high-ranking official for 48 hours.
