ERB has found out that the Belarusian Ministry of Trade turned to the Ministry of Education asking them for help in the issue of propaganda of Belarusian goods. As a result, recommendations for educational institutions have been created. In particular, the document says:

“The research on the behavior of consumers proves that many people prefer imported goods even though it is not always grounded. Low quality is often hid behind the eye appeal of foreign goods.

The idea of superiority of imported goods in comparison with domestic ones is mostly spread among teenagers and young people which can be explained by their inexperience in this field”. In connection with it, it is recommended to bring up “respectful attitude to domestic products and the national economy” in pupils and students.

The head of the department of social work of the Ministry of education Heorhi Butrym explained ERB that the main task of the initiative was orienting educational specialists at propaganda of Belarusian goods.

“The form of the propaganda can be very different. There are information classes and out-of-school activities organized. We will prepare strategic recommendations on how it should be done in class too.

For example, “Person. Society. State”. We may offer recommendations on how to pay attention to the issue in this subject. It can also be done in other social, liberal arts or optional courses”.

According to Heorhi Butrym, the propaganda will not be obligatory for teachers and lecturers. It will remain a recommendation. He noted that it was their first attempt to form the consumer culture in the youth.
