Lukashenka fails to meet Medvedev

Alyaksandr Lukashenka made the statement at the OSCE summit in Astana, informs BelTA. In the Belarusian leader’s opinion, the OSCE is like “a rod in somebody’s hands during pre-election periods in some states”. Lukashenka denounced the fact that there were no election standards the OSCE representatives and officials talked about. In his opinion, universal election standards should be worked out”.

Lukashenka also stressed that the freedom of movement was one of the priorities in the sphere of human rights. He criticized bureaucratized visa procedures and their inadequate fees.

Furthermore, Alyaksandr Lukashenka touched upon the problems of a common security system in the OSCE’s zone of responsibility, human trafficking and energy cooperation.
