Lukashenka to get Venezuela's top award
Belarus President Alexander Lukashenka is expected to sign a package of documents with his Venezuelan counterpart during his two-day visit to this South American oil-rich nation. The visit focuses on trade and economic cooperation between the two countries. Lukashenka is also to get the Liberator's Order, Venezuela's top national decoration. President Hugo Chavez holds the exclusive right to award this medal.
The Belarusian president will also take part in the launch of the Belarus-Venezuelan joint venture that will drill oil near the Orinoco River. The joint venture plans to pump up around 1 million tons of crude next year and sell it through Venezuelan companies to the third countries, reports Interfax.
