Belarusian leader Alyaksandr
Lukashenka warned against attempts to annex Belarus
to Russia
in an interview he gave to Russian journalists a few days ago. "Our thugs – they are few,
about two percent, but they are the most active – are ready to start a national
liberation war. They just need a reason. Do you think they have nothing to
fight with? They would get arms from Ukraine,
Baltic states and Poland
the very next day. And many people would think they are fighting for
independence, for something sacred. We have clever people here in Belarus. They
think exactly the same way as the Russians – this is our land, we won't give it
to anyone, tear up your shirt and go. Besides, it would be the end of
Lukashenka and everything he has done here," Lukashenka is quoted as
saying.
