Lukashenka’s birthplace to disappear from Belarusian map
The village where Alyaksandr Lukashenka used to live will become part of Shklou. Mahileu regional council has decided to broaden the borders of the town: the village of Ryzhkavichy and Maladzyozhny settlement will be added to it. There are more than 1.5 thousand inhabitants in Ryzkavichy now. The traditional village way of life is being replaced by the urban one. There use to be 30 cows in the village and now there are only 5. People have very few pigs and hens.
Local housewives say there is a good shop where they can buy everything so there is no need to be occupied with farming. The President’s wife Halina Lukashenka still lives in the village.
She used to be the head of a local kindergarten. Now she organizes recreation and sanatorium treatment for inhabitants of Shklou District.
