Luxembourg the richest nation in EU

Luxembourg was the richest member state of the European Union in 2007, according to the report released by the EU statistics agency.  Luxembourg's per capita growth last year was almost three times higher than average figures across Europe. Ireland was the second, followed by the Netherlands and Austria.

Bulgaria was named the poorest nation out of 27 EU member states, reports Reuters.
