Majority of Belarusians think gas conflict with Russia will repeat

The majority of Belarusian citizens think that the planned increase of the price of gas for our country in 2008 is economically ungrounded.

According to a survey conducted by an analytic centre EKOOM in November, 60% of the population of our country hold the opinion.

The survey also revealed that most Belarusians thought that the situation like that when Russia stopped gas supplies to our country in the winter of 2005 could repeat. 34.2% of respondents said “yes” and 40.5% - “most likely”. Only 6.9% of people think there are no reasons for such a situation.
