Malady Front activist expelled from university for attending Eastern Partnership forum?
Tatsiana Shaputska, press secretary of Malady Front (Youth Front), has been expelled from the Belarus State University. Violation of the charter discipline is cited as a formal reason. But the young lady maintains she was expelled for taking part in the Eastern Partnership's Civil Society Forum in Brussels. Tatsiana Shaputska is a sophomore at the law faculty of the BSU, reports Radio Svaboda. Her average performance is 8 points.
On November 16-17 she represented Malady Front in Brussels at the Eastern Partnership's Civic Society Forum. Meanwhile, she learned that on November 19 she was summoned for a special meeting with the dean.
Tatsiana told about it to European Commission's representative Jewgeniusz Smolar who later passed the information about her possible expulsion to Leanid Kozik, the chairman of the pro-governmental Federation of Trade Unions.
In respond, Kozik said that he would personally demonstrate in protest in the center of the Belarusian capital in case of her expulsion.
Leanid Kozik's phone lines are busy, so Malady Front activists have yet to agree with the Federation of Trade Unions about a demonstration in defense of the rights of Tatsiana in the center of Minsk.
