Malady Front marks 10th anniversary
The Malady Front (Youth Front) today marks its 10th anniversary. "Over the past ten years, the Malady Front has become not just a youth national organization, operating in most of the towns across Belarus. It has become a symbol of uncompromised struggle for the sacred values of the Belarusian nation," says the press office of the organization.
Malady Front members have passed through thousands of arrests or detentions. Dozens of criminal cases have been opened against them. The organization's leader Zmicier Dashkevich was sentenced to one year and a half in prison for "acting on behalf of an unregistered organization". Another activist Artur Finkevich was sentenced to two years of correctional labor for political grafitti.
The pro-governmental Belarusian Republican Union of Youth today marks its 5th anniversary.
