Marathon at Minsk Sea

An unusual marathon will take place at the Minsk Sea on August 2. Runners will have to overcome a distance of 5 km, including 500 meters in water up to the waist. Respublika newspaper reports that 20 age groups were selected for the competition. The youngest group is for teenagers from 15 to 17 years old.

The idea was borrowed from the neighboring Poland which staged similar events for the past ten years.
