Medvedev celebrates a confident victory at Russian polling stations
Dmitri Medvedev got 80% of votes at Russian polling stations opened in Belarus. He won in the first tour of the elections.
The Russian Embassy informed “Interfax” that Medvedev got 80.9%, Zyuganov – 9.86%, Zhirinovski – 6.99% and Bogdanov – 1.49% of votes.
8372 Russians took part in the voting in Belarus which is 1.5 times more than during the recent elections to the State Council. Let us remind you that about 70 thousand Russians live in Belarus and 50 thousands have the right to vote.
Let us note that according to the latest information announced by the Russian Central Election Commission, the candidate of the authorities and Putin’s successor Dmitri Medvedev got 70.23% of votes. The turnout was 69.65%.
