Medvedev officially declared Russia's president-elect
Russian first vice prime minister Dmitry Medvedev, 42 has been officially declared the winner of the March 2 presidential elections.
According to the official final results released by the Russia's Central Elections Commission, Medvedev received 70.28% of votes, with Communist leader Gennady Zyuganov trailing with 17.72% and Vladimir Zhirinovsky, the leader of Liveral Democratic Party, getting 9.35%. Andrey Bogdanov, the leader of the Democratic Party, received just 1,3%. The voters' turnout was 69,81%.
