Memorial to disappeared villages to open in Belarus

The first ever memorial to the disappeared villages in Belarus will be opened this year in the Vileika district. Over the past 70 years, 250 settlements have disappered from the district map.
A metal wireframe to symbolize a peasant's house will be placed in the center of a territory that will reflect the scaled map of the district. The sites of local councils will be marked by a stone where a memorial sign listing the disappeared villages will be mounted. The memorial will be located nearthe village of Snezhkova.
