Metropolitan Philareth wants priest-blogger to repent
Metropolitan Philareth has backed the ruling of the Orthodox court, which banned the Minsk-based Orhtodox Christian priest Aliaksandr Shramko from serving in his church.
Father Shramko was accused of taking part in the public campaign that aims to revise the current laws on the freedom of consciousness and of participating in an on-line conference at the Nasha Niva newspaper as well as of running his own web site in the Internet.
Shramko has been known for his promotion of the Belarusian language in the Russian Orthodox Christian Church.
The Orthodox Church leadership wants the priest to repent.
