Mikhail Aginski's archives showcased in Minsk
The Belarus's National Museum of Theater and Musical Culture and History on February 6 launched a presentation of Mikhail Aginski's archives.
The archives have been brought for a temporary demonstration from Russia where they are stored in the Russian State Archives of Ancient Acts. Aginski's archives ended up in Russia in 1883, writes Zvyazda newspaper. The return of the archives to Belarus has been made possible by the Belarus's National Commission on UNESCO with the financial support from the UNESCO Bureau in Moscow.
The documents of the archives include 5912 pages. They will be used by the Belarusian scientists to research Aginski's legacy, which is an inseparable part of the Belarusian culture.
The copies of some documents will reportedly be displayed at a museum after the restoration of Aginski's home in the village of Zalesse, Smargon district where he composed his famous Farewell to Motherland.
