Mіlіnkevіch turns to European Union with open letter
The leading Brussels magazine “European Agenda” has published the appeal of the leader of Belarusian democratic forces Alyaksandr Milinkevich addressed to leaders of the EU member-states and to all EU citizens.
The politician urged the European Union to be more active and persistent in democratization of Belarus, to create a wide network of contacts with our country, to soften its visa regime and introduce special working quotas for Belarusians in EU countries.
In connection with the EU presidency of Portugal, Milinkevich expressed his hope for a close attention to the development of the situation in Belarus during the Portuguese presidency.
Milinkevich will make a report in Summer Political Science University of Democracy in Strasbourg today.
Furthermore, the politician will meet the Secretary General of the EU Council Terry Davis, the former special reporter on Belarus at the UN Council on human rights Andrian Sevyaryn, deputies of the European Parliament and other representatives of the European political circle.
