Ministry of Justice agrees to improve the system of measures of criminal responsibility

The project of conception of improvement of the measures of criminal responsibility and the order of serving criminal punishments, prepared by the General Public Prosecution,  was approved by the Ministry of Justice.
According to the official web-site of the Ministry of Justice, there are still such situations when punishments for separate crimes are obviously harder then these crimes. For example, non-essential property damage (amounting to several dozens thousand roubles) is punished with imprisonment.

The project of conception prescribes reforming of the system of criminal responsibility measures and the order of serving punishments. It is planned to optimize the scope of punishment depending on the degree of a criminal act. The main focus will also be made on wide implementation of material punishments.
