Minsk native to rule Moscow
President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev has discharged the Mayor of Moscow Jury Luzhkov by his decree. Uladzimir Resin will temporarily fulfill the obligations of the Mayor of Moscow. As it was underlined by RBK, Resin was born in Minsk in 1936. His father Joseph Resin and mother Rosa Resina were repressed, but amnestied in 1937.
Resin graduated from the Moscow mountain institute, worked at laying of Moscow subway. In 1990 he became the Chairman of the Moscow Building Committee. In the 90s he was the Deputy Mayor of Moscow and was responsible for the city building policy of the Russian capital.
