Missing girl is found dead near Minsk
The Minsk Region Prosecutor's Office will investigate the murder of a girl from the Lagoyski district, the local police department told the Interfax news agency. The body of a dead girl was found yesterday 7 km off the village of Belaruchy in the Lagoysk district. The police suggest that the body could belong to seven-year-old Ira Kuzhelnaya who went missing in November 2007.
The body could not be immediately identified and was taken to Minsk for a forensic examination.
Police have already detained a 30-year-old resident of Minsk who maintains he is mentally sick. The girl's body was found near his parents' country house.
