Monument to Duke Mindauh to be erected in Navahrudak

A monument to Duke Mindauh of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania is to be unveiled in downtown Navahrudak in 2009. The ceremony will be timed to coincide with the 1000th anniversary of the city's first mention in historical records and 965th anniversary of Navahrudak, the first capital of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. 
Artist Henadz Buralkin is in charge of design work. The city authorities approved the project, but the monument's exact location is still unknown, BelaPAN reported.
