MPs and secretarial staff get Br10bn for salaries
The members of parliament approved Br25 billion ($12.5 million) as the budget of the House of Representatives in 2008. “It should be enough," says Anatol Chursin, the cheaf of staff at the House of Representatives. Traditionally, two thirds of this amount (over Br17 billion) is earmarked to finance the operation of the lower chamber.
Out of this amount, over Br10 billion will be spent to pay salaries to MPs and the secritariat staff, reports AFN. Unfortunately, the exact number of staff is not available. But if we divide this money among every lawmaker, it will amount to Br91 million ($45,000) per year.
