MPs propose to legalize prostitution

MP Henadz Davydzko has proposed to either legalize prostitution in Belarus or to start fighting it in a more serious way.  "I am confident that prostitution would be there anyway. It is like cockroaches which are 2000 years old", Davydzko said when commenting on a legislation to introduce a more stringent punishment for prostitution, passed by lawmakers on the first reading.

Davydzko noted that "this illegal business should be legalized in order to prevent this money from fueling crimes".
