Murderer of 7-year-old-girl to appear in court
The Minsk Regional Court is scheduled on April 21 to commence hearings into the criminal cases of the man who murdered 7-year-old Ira Kuzhelnaya. The trial will be held behind the closed doors. The case was filed with the court in early April 2008. In February, psychiatric experts admitted that the 29-year-old killer was mentally ill. The case was transferred to the court in order to take a required legal action regarding the man's threat to public safety and treatment.
The body of Ira Kuzhelnaya, a second-grade pupil from the Belaruchskaya SS in the Lahoysk district was found by the police on January 3, 2008 7 km off the village where she had lived with the mother.
The girl went missing on November 23, 2007. Forensic experts confirmed that Ira Kuzhelnaya died of injuries, reports Belapan.
