No more queues at Belarusian-Polish border - Border committee
The situation at Belarusian-Polish border has become normal.
The head за the press service of the State Border Committee of Belarus Alyaksandr Tsishchanka informed ERB about it:
“Cars are passing. The queue on the Polish side has become shorter as far as I know. The service is working and there are practically no queues. Anyway, we do not see any long queues on that side, the longest one is about 500 metres”.
At the same time Tsishchanka noted that there was some uncertainty because the action of Polish customs officers could start again at any moment:
“We have not seen any official documents proving that the strike has stopped, there is no confirmation like a governmental announcement or something like that”.
Let us remind you that long queues of trucks (mainly on the Polish side) appeared as a result of the strike of Polish customs officers that started on January 25 at the Belarusian-Polish border. They demanded to increase their wages. Negotiations of the Polish government and customs officials were broken up on Wednesday. However, the situation at the border started getting better.
