No plans for Belarus's currency denomination in 2008

The National Bank of Belarus said it had no plans to denominate the Belarusian rubel in 2008.
The statement was disseminated in a press release in respond to numerous requests from members of the public. In addition, the National Bank said that it planned to continue the policy of strengthening the national currency, reports Interfax.

Under the fiscal and monetary targets in 2008, fluctuation of the Belarusian rubel against the US dollar will be allowed to hover around plus/minus 2.5 percent as of January 1, 2009.
