One year since arrest of entrepreneurs from Vaukavysk
Today is one year since the arrest of Mikalai Autukhovich, Yury Lyavonau and Uladzimir Asipenka, the entrepreneurs from Vaukavysk. Their criminal case was filed with the Supreme Court of Belarus on December 30, 2009. Asipenka's attorney Tamara Sidarenka told Belapan that the trial is likely to open in the second half of March.
Mikalai Autukhovich, Yury Lyavonau and Uladzimir Asipenka were detained on February 8, 2009. Autukhovich and Asipenka were charged with plotting a terror attack. Lyavonau was released in August 2009.
In January 2010, Human Rights Watch said that Autukhovich, Lyavonau and Asipenka were arrested on politically motivated charges.
