Opposionist in Homel told to pay off taxes for life
Homel's Central District Court has ruled that Kanstantsin Zhukouski, a local pro-democracy activist, pay off the indebted taxes since his adult age in the amount of Br 2,150,000.
Zhukouski, 32 who is the regional coordinator for the committee to organize the Belarusian Christian Democracy party was handed down this ruling on March 7. The letter from the court said that the court satisfied a lawsuit from the revenue authority and ruled to oblige the activist to pay off all the taxes since the age of 18, reports Belapan.
In an earlier development, the tax collectors had penalized Zhukouski with Br 1,750,000 for an undeclared wedding present.
His total debt now amounts to almost Br 4 million ($2000).
