Opposition actions take place in Minsk on Solidarity Day
Opposition actions took place in Minsk and a number of other Belarusian cities on Solidarity Day that is traditionally marked every 16th day of every month. Activists of the civil campaign “European Belarus” went to Independence Avenue with a transparency “Release political prisoners!” and portraits of Mikalai Autuhovich, Uladzimir Asipenka and Artsyom Dubski. A similar action was organized near the National Library. Activists kept shouting out mottos demanding to release the arrested opposition members. Both pickets lasted 15 minutes and nobody was detained.
According to “Charter-97”, leaflets and posters containing information about the Day of Solidarity and political prisoners were distributed in Minsk yesterday.
An unauthorized anti-corruption action was organized by members of Malady Front in Baranavichy. There were detentions. Three white-red-white flags were hoisted in Vitsebsk on Sunday, informs Radio Liberty.
