Opposition activist from Kletsk asks for political asylum in Poland

Siarhei Panamarou, a 58-year-old opposition activist from Kletsk, applied for political asylum in Poland. A criminal proceeding against him was appointed on August 23, so the activist was supposed to be under a non-leave obligation until the court trial.
According to the investigation, Panamarou insulted 5 Kletsk officials, including the Head of the local district executive committee, in his articles published in the bulletin "Boiki Kletsk", edited by Siarhei Panamarou.

According to "Nasha Niva", Siarhei Panamarou is now in the camp for refugees. He has entered Poland through Russia and the Ukraine. The activist says he plans to find a job in Poland and hopes he will have an opportunity to continue his civil and political activity.
