Opposition activist ordered to undergo checkup with psychiatrist

Siarhei Kavalenka, an opposition activist from Vitsebsk, has been ordered by police investigators to undergo a medical check-up with psychaitrists. The police also changed criminal charges against him, reports Vitsebsk People's News
According to Kavalenka, he is now facing charges under Article 339 (1) in the Penal Code of Belarus -- deliberate actions to violate public order and to express obvious disrespect to society -- and Article 363 -- disobedience to a police officer). If convicted, Kavalenka may be sentenced to 2-5 years in prison.

Siarhei Kavalenka was arrested on January 7 after he put a national white-red-white flag on top of the Christmas tree on the central square of Vitsebsk.
